So after hearing about the killing of David Joiner* a little over a month ago I was done with reporting or saying anything else about the senseless killings occurring in Toledo, Ohio, but just like me swearing off on smoking cigarettes, I guess I will have to renege on this as well.
Let me start off by saying Killing is wrong, its wack, it is stupid and senseless an most times it could be avoid if people would just stop responding off of impulse and allowing pride to dictate to them how they should respond. People who abide by these hood rules are stupid, people who do not wish to be caught up in their lifestyle advise others not to snitch, but in all actually are the first to start singing if they feel those steel cuffs against them, we call them informants.
The game is twisted and at every angle are loop holes for the stupid to get caught up in and for the man with the money to get off or sentence reduce lighter. But what is really troubling me as of lately is that the vast majority of stupidity is being done by someone who’s reflection resembles me!
It’s hard enough being black and semi – legit now, but do I seriously need the additional heat when walking down the street or riding in my car of “is that him”. I seriously wonder WTF is going on in these homes, why do these children feel like this all they can resort to, I personally have tasted the bitter end of our courts of justice and still I choose right over wrong, so why can’t others, I am not saying it is easy, hell far from it, but to sacrifice your life, or take another person’s life is that worth it?
Just last night I was watching the news for what seem to be the first time in weeks, and let me tell you, it probably will be the last time I watch it for a while, I heard the lady off of channel 13 inform me that there is a black serial rapist in town who just got caught! I was seriously dumbfounded, not only do we have a multiple murders in our city, but now we have black serial rapist, seriously, what’s next, better yet, I don’t want to know, I am still praying for peace and hoping for change!
